   Russian Kiosk!

Hello,

I was walking today and thought Americans might want to see what is on every street corner, at every bus stop and even stuck in the base of the towers of Flats.

The famous Kiosk, The wonder of the Russian Empire.

These little buildings sell everything from flowers to beer. Many of them are open 24 hours.

People who drink and smoke in America, will be jealous. The price for a pack of cigarettes is as low as 7 Rubles for generics to 20 Rubles for Marlboro, name brand. (this is about 25 cents a pack to 90 cents a pack)

The beer can be bought for anywhere from 8 Rubles to 100 Rubles. (American Beer some of the most expensive)

So, for $1 dollar in America (25 Rubles) you can get 2 big beers and a pack of cigarettes.

Now, I know a whole bunch of Rednecks in America, who would be in hog heaven with those prices.

Soviet Union Kids Grew Up Thinking Of War Also!

Map of cold war era.

Hello,

I was drinking my morning cup of coffee, I was deep in thought about something my Wife talked about, last night before we went to bed.

She was talking about when she was a little child, that they feared war with China and America. They feared war with any county.

I thought about my childhood, We were the same!

I have talked a little about this subject before in my Blog. But this was the first time that I had heard my Wife mention about the worry of War, as a child.

This seems sad to me that, The children of the world have such a state of mind that worries about war, terrorists, and evil.

Children are suppose to grow up free from the adult pressures of life. Children should know fun, imagination and play.

We live in a world that seems to not have the children's best interest at heart.

When I grew up, I new that Russia was Bad!! Why? Because the news media and parents told me so.
Children in other countries think America is bad! Why? The news media and parents tell them so.
In America now, The word is China. China is too big to go to war with. Too many people! Who says this? The news media and parents.

I wonder why do Adults have to express Death, War, Murder, Hate, Disasters, Crime, Terrorism's and many other things that are not really conductive to children's growth and development?

I will say that many Russian people try to keep their kids away from the media. The media is more controlled in Russia and I do not see that as a bad thing. The public TV in Russia reminds me of TV 30 years ago in America. Beer commercials everywhere. Yes, Budweiser and Miller advertises like crazy in Russia.(capitalism at its best)

I feel that our children should grow up in world that is safe, strong and protected. Not a world that is afraid to transverse the seas.

I know, I was worried about safety in Russia.

Truth is I am safer, much safer, than I was in the USA!!!!

   Russian Hedgehog!

Hello,

Our dog Boza found a surprise for us. A bad attitude and cussing Hedgehog! Luckily Boza did not try to stick his nose to close to the Hedgehog.

So I took pictures the best I could and left the Hedgehog alone. He was not happy to see us or be photographed.

"Hedgehog, common name for any of several spiny mammals that are similar in appearance to the porcupine, but more closely related to the mole and shrew. The hedgehog, which is found in Europe, Asia, and Africa, has a coat of long, stiff, pointed spines on its back. The fur on its underside is soft. Hedgehogs average 25 cm (10 in) in length and range in color from light tan to black. They have pointed snouts, small eyes, short legs, and vestigial tails.

When threatened, the hedgehog rolls itself into a ball by the action of powerful muscles that arise from the head and neck on each side and loop around the rump. In this position its spines project in all directions. Hedgehogs conceal themselves in hedgerows during the daytime and emerge at night to hunt. They eat insects, worms, frogs, snakes, mice, and birds' eggs. European hedgehogs hibernate during the wintertime, but their torpor is not deep and they occasionally awaken and emerge from their nest of dry leaves to hunt food. In July or August the European hedgehog gives birth to four to eight young."{Microsoft® Encarta® Encyclopedia 2001. © 1993-2000 Microsoft Corporation.}

So there, that is a Hedgehog! The best I can tell he spoke Russian! Because I did not understand a word he said as he hissed at us. :)))))

   Church In The Empty Field!

Hello,

While traveling home from the Village, We came upon a church sitting in a field all by it self. We had to stop and check it out. It is of the same basic style of the other one I just wrote about. So I believe my readers are right. It is Orthodox, but just a different style.

Link to previous post:
http://kylekeeton.com/2007/07/church-that-time-forgot.html

I love these old churches. They have an energy in them that can not be described, an energy that is present even though the last church service was silent many years ago. I am discovering that even though the church is vacant and crumbling, God still lives there.

As we drive we see new Monasteries and new churches being built, I wonder why? They have so many old ones to rebuild.

The Church: That God Has Not Forgot!

Hello,

When my wife and I travel, we look at everything. Well we found this beautiful Church. We do not think that it is from the Orthodox. We think maybe it is Catholic.

In Russia back in the old days. The churches were all closed. They were boarded up and sometimes blown up. This church was 400 km from Moscow, so that is maybe, what saved it from being blown up?

We thought that you might like to see a church from the past. Still has paintings on the wall, but very faded. The roof is caving in slowly. There are trees growing on the roof.

If any one has a idea of what era and what religion this church is let me know. It is not Orthodox, at least not what we see in Russia as Orthodox.

We wish we had the money to buy it, we would fix it up and enjoy it, make a museum out of it.............. You can feel God is still there, when you stand in the middle of it.

Russia @ North Pole: Ice Station Zebra!

Hello,

Did we not have a movie, many years ago about the battle over the North Pole? It was a great movie. I think Rock Hudson(American) and Ernest Borgnine(Russian) was in it. Ice Station Zebra!

Well now in real life, we have the USA and Russia, wanting the North Pole

Russia is trying to lay claim to the North Pole in the Arctic, This area is thought to contain oil, gas and mineral reserves. Their claim is being challenged by other powers, including the US.

See below a detailed map of the region

Moscow has argued before, in 2001 that waters off its northern coast were in fact an extension of its maritime territory.

The claim was based on the underwater feature, known as the Lomonosov Ridge, is part of its continental territory.

The UN has not given any comment on this acclaim.

The Russians are sending a mini sub very soon to check out their claims. The team aboard the mini-submarine Mir is expected to carry out scientific experiments and measurements on the sea bed. When the mini sub leaves it will plant a Russian flag and a capsule with a message for future generations.

Russia wants to extended the zone, to do this, a state has to prove that the structure of the continental shelf is similar to the geological structure within its territory.

At the moment, no body's shelf extends up to the North Pole, so there is an international area around the Pole administered by the International Seabed Authority.

In a nut shell: There is a huge oil reserve under the North Pole. The same one that the Alaskan oil reserves are near. So this is going to become a heated issue as time goes by.

   Putin, Lays the Law down!

Hello,

Putin lambasts Britain for “colonial mindset”

London has given Putin some advice: Change the Russian Constitution!

Vladimir Putin has dismissed the recommendation to amend the Constitution. :))))

London has just added more fuel to the fire, over the Russian-UK diplomatic disagreement, over the extradition of former KGB agent Andrei Lugovoi.

Putin stated: "What they offer is obviously the remnant of a colonial mindset," Told to Russia’s Channel 1 on Tuesday.

Why is Britian intent on stoking the flames?

There are 30 people sought by Russian law enforcement agencies that live in Britain, for crimes of various degrees of severity. Most reside in London, but Britain would not extradite them. The United States and France have unextradited criminals in Britain also.

Link:
http://kylekeeton.com/2007/07/russia-united-kingdom.html

I have already written about this in the link above.

Now Britian has decided to play some more, when will they learn that Russia likes to play also?

Russian Garage: Not the garage you use in the USA!

Hello,

It is raining in Moscow today, so I am in the mood to let you see things of Russia and Moscow that you may not have ever seen before.

In the USA people most likely think of a garage as being part of your home. Or maybe a free standing building that houses both cars and Dads other toys. :) A building that is bigger than the flat I live in by a huge amount.

In Russia the garage is different. It basically houses just the car. In fact so small that I am not sure how some people get out of their cars when they park them.

These buildings can be found stuck in any free spot that you could imagine. We all live in flats built during the CCCP era. So lack of parking space is the norm. Russians have become very creative in their garage placement. Where you find one garage you will see 10 other people try to fit their garage.

Russia had CCCP parking garages also: as you can see in picture 4. They are more a shed style and built on site by steel plate and welder. The new garages are prefab and bolted together on site, made out of sheet metal.

Russians are amazing, they find a way to make life better, anyway they can! I am finding out do not tell a Russian,"You can not do that." they will prove you wrong!!

   Russian Dove: Pigeon!

Hello,

In The former CCCP (Soviet Union), They had Dove houses. These Dove houses have survived mostly intact. These houses are all over Russia, from the center of Moscow to the Villages. They are still being used for mostly white Doves. Though interracial seems to be the future. :)

I find it interesting that the Humans lived in flats, and they built free standing houses for the Doves. I am finding out that the Russians Love their Doves, very much!

I being American, made the mistake of saying, "The city is full of Grey Pigeons (please, do not call them pigeons)."

The Russians call them Doves, So be they white, gray or brown, they are Doves!

Just another aspect of the Russians, that you did not know about.

   Russia @ United Kingdom!

Hello,

Sometimes, I get a little political. When I hear enough about a certain subject, I write about it. This particular subject did not interest me until, The USA and France opened their big mouths and backed Britain. I get both sides of the story, living here in Moscow! So Here is what I think:

The Russian @ British political standoff could lead to the withdrawal of many Russian companies from the London and American Stock exchange.

If things remain as they are, the UK markets, could suffer by Russians switching to continental stock exchanges. The American stock exchange would suffer also.

It is said that Britain could extend visa restrictions for Russian officials to the executives of state-owned companies. It could become impossible to get a Business Visa to the UK.

British companies that operating in Russia may face problems also: They could be subject to more frequent inspections, also it could be more difficult for UK companies to win tenders. In the end, British businesses could sustain significant damages. Russia business is the "Loan wolf", as we say, they have much less to lose because they are very unreeling in the outside world.

The situation can only be stabilized if London refrains from retaliation, or this could lead to a political stalemate, if not trigger another Cold War,

The chain of events:

1.On 28 May 2007, the UK requested Lugovoi’s extradition in connection with the Litvinenko killing, but Moscow refused to extradite him saying Russia’s Constitution did not allow the extradition of its citizens. (At The Same Time) Meanwhile, the UK itself has declined Russia’s extradition requests for Chechen rebel spokesman Akhmed Zakayev and businessman Boris Berezovsky, facing fraud charges in Russia and openly calling for force to replace Putin’s administration.

2. On 16 July Britain expelled four Russian diplomats over Moscow’s refusal to extradite businessman Andrei Lugovoi. Britain also suspended visa facilitation negotiations with Moscow. Russia responded in kind, expelling four British embassy staff and imposing other restrictions.

So to me, It sounds like Britain played games first, But Russia likes to play also! If Britain would give up their political refugees then I bet Russia would give up their refugee. Now for France and the USA!!! They need to keep their mouths shut! Get all information before you," Spout Like a Boiling Tea Pot!"

Just a thought!!!

   Why Am I In Russia?

Hello,

I sat and drank my famous cup of coffee, then I started thinking. Why did I come to Russia? The most obvious reason is that I have fallen in Love with the most beautiful Woman in the World, but at my age, is there more to life than just blind love? No! (There is Not!)

I had made up my mind many years ago to never fall in love again. I had been through enough. So I had a life that was comfortable and safe.

Then I met Svet, by pure luck and my life changed for ever. Svet was the catalyst to bring me to Russia. Now the question is, Will I stay in Russia? Yes!

For you see Russia is more than just a place, Russia has become my home. The saying, "Home is were the heart is." is very true.

I look at the sky in Russia and it feels good. I buy vegetables from the local market and they taste good. I see strange homes and buildings, but they do not feel strange. They seem normal! I look at huge hyrise flats and I enjoy looking out over the city 14 stories up.

Then I look at my Wife and my dog Boza! I call them my two Turkeys!!

That's when I realize that I would live anywhere in the world with them. All the other items are just icing on the cake as we say!

So, "Home is where the heart is!"

   RUSSIAN RAINBOW: Wow!

Hello,

The technical definition for a rainbow is:
"Rainbows
are optical and meteorological phenomena that cause a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the Earth's atmosphere. They take the form of a multicoloured arc, with red on the outer part of the arch and violet on the inner section of the arch. More rarely, a double rainbow is seen, which includes a second, fainter arc with colours in the opposite order, that is, with violet on the outside and red on the inside." (Wikipedia)

What ever the definitions is, they are beautiful. The rainbows that I just took pictures of, came after a long dreary day of clouds and rain. I think that rainbows would be considered beautiful anyway, but when they appear after such a dreary day, they are even more beautiful. This is even the rare double rainbow.(I feel special)

My definition is that God still remembers his promise about never flooding the world again. God said he would keep the rainbow as a reminder! Everywhere in the world rainbows shine. Well today in Moscow Russia, God gave us a double reminder. :))))))

   The Weather Whispers!

This is an article by my Wife, Svetlana. I let her do this as a small gift for her Birthday!
Happy Birthday Sweetie!
Kyle (Your Bear)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“The weather whispers

The weather whispers...”
by Svetlana Prostova

The weather whispers to borrow but jump.”
Saying
in Russian aeroclubs.

Hi,

That was a sunny day... I was one in the group of thirty, people who was ready to make there first parachute jump. I knew I was crazy but I knew I would make it. I was ready, I was ready already for a year to make the parachute jump to see that I became a new person, person who afraid of nothing in the life. And even more parachute jump for me was like symbol of trusting to Life. And I already knew that when you trust Life Life will trust you and help provide your great ideas to become true...

And it was long lecture before we got our landing parachutes we was told how to count seconds 1001, 1002, 1003, we were told how to pull the ring – to open parachute, how pull ropes to manage the flight how to land and not to break legs and a lot of another necessary things. And maybe the main thought was repeated and repeated again: “You decided to jump - you jump!”

And we were standing in the line already wearing parachutes and our instructors checked again and again our equipment. Then we were sitting in a tiny airplane AN-02 and it’s running very very fast on the strip and ah! we already flying very fast and almost vertical. And all blood in the body ran like crazy and fear and admiration because you already know you will made it, you don’t have any chance. And our parachutes were fasten to the line in the selling of the plane and command “Stand up and, first – go, second –go, third -go...” And I at the edge of the plane and instructor’s slap on my shoulders and command to go! And Earth so far from you that you even don’t think about the distance to the ground, and the Step – step out, step out of you, step to meet uncertainty.... (Later when I thought about it I found just the only thing alike this Step and we all made it! It was when we left mothers body to live in the World.)

And admiration and happiness – I made it! And thought what came after I must count seconds 1001, 1002 and parachute was opened by automatics (so my admiration took a time ;) ). And the flight and my attempts to pull the parachute ropes what was not a necessary really I did it just to do something and a little boy who was running below on the Ground, saluting me. And landing, and caring parachute (20 kg) in arms for 3 kilometers and waiting another people and talks about nothing.

And riding home and incredible feeling that your Soul is so clean like you just got birth, and the Jump was like shower for Soul – good long shower, and Past does not exist anymore and Future means nothing to you: no plans, no expectation – just happiness and realizing that all in your life will be good.

And when I was felling asleep this night I’ve seen bright blue sky and myself in it. And scared thought that one day I would remember about it like old almost forgotten dream....

It’s a sunny day in Moscow, my birthday coming, Kyle offer to write something to his blog. I decided to tell world about my first parachute jump what I made three years ago. I think that’s the greatest experience of my Life what I could share with you. And one more thought I will ask Kyle to let me one more jump with parachute as my birthday present.

FAQs:

Q: Is it dangerous to jump with parachute?

A: Yes, that’s very dangerous! A friend of mine remarried and gave birth a son after his first jump ;).

Q: Is it good to jump with parachute?

A: I think it is. Modern Buddhists think that person loose 10% of karma when he makes this Step.

Some of them telling about stop of consciousness/mind when you Step out.

Q: Are you going to jump with parachute professionally.

A: No. I made 3 jumps with parachute and am going to make 5 or 7... I heard that the fourth jump is most scared and I want to try it to step over my fear and I heard that the 6th jump is already boring who knows.

Q: When are you going to make new jump.

A: I don’t know yet. Maybe this weekend, maybe next, maybe in autumn. Kyle will be with me and take a lot of pictures, I told you how it was inside and he describe how it will be from outside ;). I so love him!

Hello,

Today I woke up and felt a little better than normal. I was grumpy,(just ask my Sweetie).
But I felt physically better. So I walked my Sweetie, to the bus stop and saw her off. I then walked through the woods back home.

I came across paths, every where there was paths. There was paths crossing paths. There was narrow paths. There was wide paths. There was paths for cars. There was asphalt paths. there was rocky paths. there was dirt paths. There was paths going no where. There was paths going to the flats. There was paths going to the freeway cross walk. There was little paths going to bigger paths. sometimes there was two or three parallel paths going to the same place.

These paths that I took pictures of, were not in a large area. They were within 200 to 300 meters of where I live. Anywhere you walk in Russia you will find paths.

In Russia, if there is not a path going to where you want to go. Make your own path! It is OK!

A path is a: Russian Tradition!

   Queue, Of Russia!

Hello,

I was working on an article and a friend of mine (Sebastian) beat me to it. So I am going to include his article in mine. He gives a view point from another part of the world. Link to Article: Sebastian's Soapbox

The Russian queue is as much part of life in Russia as breathing and walking. The Russian expects to stand in queue. They have protocol for standing in queue.

1. You may ask someone to save your place in queue while you go stand in another queue!(I have seen people occupy three queues)
2. All members of a family spread out to all queues, then the member that gets to the cashier first lets all the others in queue.
3. People can cheat the system by being sneaky in a queue and its not considered cheating, just being smart and aggressive.
4. Babushkas have priority.
5. You must be Russian to decipher a queue, the queues are always mixed together. Russians somehow know where to stand. (I do not, my Sweetie does).
6. Queues are acceptable and expected for: government paperwork, government events, government anything :) Queues are acceptable and expected on the Metro, and waiting at bus stops.
7. Queues are not acceptable when driving: Russians, will drive over it, under it, around it, through it, by it and will chart new territories to miss it! Queues are not acceptable to wait in line to buy cellphones and such!

There are more rules that I do not understand yet, But my Wife knows them and she keeps me in Queue. :)

   Swallows In The Wilds!

Hello,

While Svet and I were traveling home from the Village this time, We came upon an area of Swallows (birds). So we had to take a look and see why there was so many Swallows. We found nests cut into the hill side of sand, with maybe 1000 birds. When we came up they all left in a flurry and a rush. That allowed us to take pictures. The biggest holes that you see are attempts made by Humans and their dogs to dig out the nests.(lucky the holes are very deep and interconnected).

That upset me. The Swallows need safety from Humans and their dogs.

The Swallow eats all those mosquitoes that suck the life blood out of you in the Villages. So they are good to have! :)))

As we left we stopped a distance away, The birds all came back! They were flying high in the sky waiting for the big bad Humans to leave. Well we left, but only after taking pictures of their homes. I find this fascinating and a wonderful part of nature.

It was fantastic and we had a surprise at the Village!
The Village was busy there was people everywhere, There was probably 40 people. They were mowing grass and cleaning broken down Village houses. Now that was not the surprise. The surprise was, a group of Americans (about 30) were hiking the woods near the Village and they stayed at my Village!

I am suppose to be the only American around! Now there are as many Americans as Russians.
They were just hiking through and they talked to some of the local village people, The Village people told them that they have their own American, and he stays in the Village with his Wife. So the Village people like having an American they call their own. :))))))))))))))))

We never really met them, just passed. We had no idea that they were all American, I heard multiples of languages when they passed by. So we never really talked. I was surprised when One guy was straggling up the rear of the group, We said hi and he responded "Hello"! I said wow he just said hello. I had not heard that for awhile. Never thought I would hear it in the Village.

So all in all around 70 to 80 people were at the Village. Now that was crowded! The wells were almost dry of water, The grass had paths everywhere. The only cow that lived there could not be found.(I think the Americans Ate It) :))))

This week coming up, there was going to be a wedding party at the Village. So we are going back this weekend to protect our Village House.

All in all, the village trip was wonderful and I am always amazed at what is going on at the Village. This is one of the most unique places on Earth. Where else can I go in Russia and find 30 Americans all in one spot???

Never have my camera when I need it!

Now, if I could find that Cow?

Love this Russian Village!

   Putin, Olympic Speech!

You got to hand it to Putin, He speaks better English than most Americans. I was very impressed. I think that Russia can take big advantage of this time and make the most spectacular Winter Olympics that has ever been hosted.

Good Job Putin!

   Old Soviet Playground?

Hello,

I was walking the other day with my Wife. We came around a corner and I stopped suddenly. I was amazed, For you see in front of me was this incredible building. I thought it was a home. I then realized that it was a playground. This playground was located between a 5 story building of Flats and a School. Nestled in the trees as cozy as could be. I ignored my thoughts for a week! Then this morning I decided to take pictures of the playground.

I could not stop wondering about who made this playground? Why did they make this playground? Will they let me play in this playground?

When I was a kid I would have loved this place!!! So today I played in the Old Soviet Playground!

The years have decayed the structure, but the love is still there. You could feel the desires that went into the making of this place. The wants, The Sweat, The passion, The pain! Some one put their Soul into this tiny area of ground. The results were a playground that has withstood the abuse of time and man.

I took pictures of the past today, As I stood there taking pictures I could sense the children playing. I could see the little boy driving the cars that were everywhere! I could see the World globe mounted high on its pedestal. Now the globe is a shattered remain, (Is that the future of our World?)

I looked at this playground today and thought, "Is this playground of our past, or the forth site of our future?

Why we do not have more of these fairylands? Places where your imagination can be expanded to its fullest. I for one found peace and quiet today! I found a little spot in the world where my Soul rested!

   Sochi-2014 Winter Olympics

Hello,

The word is Sochi did it!! Looks like President Putin really went all out to impressed the committee. I am really happy that Sochi gets to host the Winter Olympics. Here is an exerpt from a BBC article. The fact that president Putin spoke in English, French, and Spanish, to the committee showed how serious Putin took the task at hand.
Now I can not wait, I want to take my Sweety and go see the Winter Olympics in 2014!!!!

Sochi given 2014 Winter Olympics
Celebrations in <span class=

Many in Sochi partied all night after hearing the announcement
The Russian resort of Sochi has been chosen to host the 2014 Winter Olympics, beating South Korea's Pyeongchang.

Sochi secured 51 votes at a meeting of International Olympic Committee (IOC) delegates in Guatemala, beating its South Korean rival by just four votes.

In earlier voting, the third contender, Salzburg in Austria, was eliminated.

The presidents of all three candidate countries had attended the meeting to plead their countries' cases.

Russian President Vladimir Putin was credited with helping Sochi's bid, after he addressed delegates in three languages - English, Spanish and French.

It is believed to be the first time the Russian leader has been heard speaking English at a public ceremony.

Moscow, Even the Rain washes the pain!

Hello,

I watched the rain today!
The drops running down the window panes. The Sun playing tag with the clouds. The wind, dancing among the birch trees.
I watched the rain today!
The pain of a city flowed along the curbs. The tensions eased with every drop of water. The depression gurgled as it swirled down the drain.
I watched the rain today!

Even a city as big as Moscow can be healed by rain. The dirt, dust, soot, and debris, all seem to disappear when the rain falls. It is as if, God has renewed the city! When a rain shower is done and the sun comes out. The birds sing, their song with all their might. As if to thank Mother Nature for the new beginning.

I watched the rain today!

Putin and Bush, Eating High On The Hog! (Lobster)

Hello,

I wrote a very small article on this last weekend meeting between Putin and Bush. I said it was a good time of the year to have a BBQ. Boy, I was wrong, They had Lobster. They should have rethought that menu, Putin can have Lobster any time he feels like. Putin can have any food he wants! But in Russia they do not think of BBQ like Americans do. They could have at least had a clam bake on the beach!!!!

http://kylekeeton.com/2007/06/putin-bush-to-share-thoughts-once-again.html

Putin came all the way to America to eat Lobster!

I also hope that since it is so close to the Fourth of July, that they shot bottle rockets and fire crackers. Putin and Bush could have bought bottle rockets and other fireworks. Then they could have worked out their differences with a good old fashion bottle rocket war.

What better way to enjoy the Fourth of July!!!!

Once again, I am really glad that Putin and Bush are such good Buddies!

   Stormy Day In Russia!

Hi,

I was drinking my coffee again and thinking. I was thinking about my Dad. My Dad died when I was around 21 years old. I feel lucky that I had him that long. My wife's Dad died when she was 3 years old. So I feel very fortunate that my Dad was alive when I grew up.

My Dad wanted to do something with his life. He wanted to join the Peace Corps. He wanted to start his own business. He wanted to see other countries. My Dad never talked much to me, but he would make statements. Like before he died, he said to me, : "I do not want to be on artificial life support, If I am ever hospitalized." That's is all he said no less no more. When my Dad died I remembered his words. They helped guide me on his last day on earth. The decisions I made at 21 years old, when he was dieing, was based on many of the statements that he said to me.

Some of the statements that he said: He always wanted to have his own business. ( I did have my own business. Very successful! )

My Dad wanted to travel the world. (I am trying) I have been to Germany, Mexico, Vietnam, Hawaii, Ukraine, Moldova, Canada, and I live now in Russia.

The things my Dad wanted, He was not able to do for himself. But he instilled them in me. I live some of the life, that he wanted. I guess you could say that is what I got, from my Dad. The desire to explore. The need to see what is over the horizon.

The next place that my Wife and I want to go to, is China and Mongolia. We have this trip in our dreams and hearts. I am lucky, my Wife likes to explore also!

My Dad lives on in me. Like I hope that I will live on in my Son and he lives on in his Son.

I lived through what killed my Dad. Blockage to the Widow Maker Artery. When My Dad died, technology could not save him. Now when it was my turn to meet the Grim Reaper, technology rushed me to the operating room and put stints in my artery's. I have a total of 6 stints in my arteries!!

So, I plan on traveling with my wife! She is the keeper of my soul! She has the key to my heart! When I travel to China and Mongolia, She will be by my side and we will be like two kids enjoying the sites.

But I will also think of my Dad, for he watches over me, smiles in approval, as I take some of what he has taught me and try to make a better life for myself. I think my Dad would like my life now!

I just wish that I could call him and say ,"Hey Dad, guess what?"
