   Russia: Model 24 Volga!

Our Volga, Model 2410, We call her Nelly!
Hello,

I was drinking my morning cup of coffee & thinking about Volga cars!

We own a Volga model 24. It is a lot like a 1960's car from America & it is a Tank! (For lack of a better word)

We are going to do a 3 part article on the Volga Car! From model 21 to present day!

The Volga is the flagship car of the Soviet Union (and Russia) & foreign cars have almost sent the Volga to its grave.... (Some would say that would be good)

I think the Volga is one of the best cars I have ever owned!

So came back tomorrow & see part one.

Kyle

comments always welcome.

At least you don't have a Trabant.

Hey Clark,

That Trabant is an fantastic car! A 600cc, 2 stroke, two cylinder engine! 0-62 miles an hour in 21 seconds! Top speed 70 miles per hour!

This car I like, It had a recycled body made of Duroplast! (a form of plastic containing resin strengthened by wool or cotton.) I wish I had one to play with.

Thanks for stopping by. Come again I post often and value all comments.

Here in Bulgaria some people are still driving Trabants.
As I know in Germany they feel nostalgia to this car and use it as a tourist attraction.
As for Volga it's really a 'tank' and as a tank it needs to be 'fed' by a lot of fuel.

Wishes,
Ludmila

Hi, Ludmila!

You are absolutely right about fuel for Volga. The only reason why some of my colleagues prefer another cars ;).

As for me I can not imagine myself in any another car!

Thank you for comment, we always appreciate it so much!

Best wishes,
Svet and Kyle

The Volga 2410 resembles a 1966 Chevrolet Nova. Not bad looking, but the M-21 is still the best looking Volga. I like the 1950's styling.

My favorite recent Volga is the 3111. Modern, but shapely enough to be interesting.

How can I post under my real name on some of these comments, the way I can on your other stories?

Hey Mark,

The only way is to get an OpenId. This is the old blogger system and is a very poor system. But if yo sign up in an open id type system then you can use that to comment both on Intensedebate and blogger. I use Intensedebate now and it has flaws but vastly superior to Blogger.

I will send you an email on open id...
