Nature: Shouwu has the slightly mild nature, bitter in taste, with sweetness and acerbity.
Main function: Tranquilize the mind, enrich the blood, remove the dampness, and promote the blood circulation, especially effective for the insomnia and dreaminess, blood deficiency and pain in the whole body, rheumatism, itching of the skin.
The raw Shouwu has the strong effect to moisten the intestines and relieve the bowls. The effective ingredient chrysophanol contained in it can promote the activities of the intestines of the animals. Patients with the hyperlipidemia can cause the frequent bowels and the diarrhea. Besides, Shouwu has resistant effect to the flu, and effective to reduce the heart rate, expand the coronary artery, and resist the myocardial ischemia.
shou wu is a Chinese herb obtained from the tuberous roots of Polygonum multiflorum. It is one of the most commonly used Chinese medicinal materials, and has a good reputation for preventing or delaying the graying of hair, even reverting gray hair to its original color, as well as having other benefits for the hair, such as treating alopecia. The herb is used for a variety of other therapeutic actions related to the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) categories of nourishing blood and yin.
Usage: Shouwu can be grinded into powder, take it once in the morning and evening with the empty stomach, about 10g every time.
